Introduction:
Iodine stabilized laser corresponding to the requirement 1992 CIPM may cause a certain trouble on a limited application like as super fine wavelength calibration or interference measurement, because output power is low around 50 - 100 micro W, and because oscillating wavelength is modulated. Offset Lock He-Ne Laser, Model NEO-OL101K is developed under the technical collaboration with AIST (former NRLM), as the light source having big output power, without modulation.
Features:
An oscillating wavelength on Offset lock HeNe laser is controlled to stabilize at a shifted frequency (offset frequency) by a certain value from stabilized reference laser (usually Iodine stabilized laser). Therefore the stabilization of offset frequency can be regarded as the same level as it of (Iodine) stabilized reference laser in principle.

Introduction:
This Laser is equipped with Longitudinal mode 2 frequencies He-Ne laser (random polarization).
By polarization prism, a Beam is split to P polarization and to S polarization constituent, and relative change of each frequency is detected as change of Power, and is compared each other.
An electric current for pumping is changed by a signal, and cavity length is changed by using thermal expansion.
Further, in order to avoid big fluctuation of electric current to be caused by drift, heater is wound onto laser tube, so that an electric current for pumping is maintained constantly.
An electric current for pumping controls fast fluctuation, and the heater controls slow movement like as drift.
